Ever since I moved to LA, (click here to read about it) I’ve been searching for fun activities to try and new places to check out. One of my top choices was to take a trip to the Melrose Trading Post. It’s the cutest flea market I think I’ve ever seen held every Sunday at Fairfax High School. They have everything from vintage clothing, cool antiques, and a surplus of succulents. I’m lucky I gave myself a budget becasue it is soooo easy to buy something at every stand! One of my favorite stands I visited has huge tubs of old photographs of random people. It was weird at first… but then very sentimental when you think about all those stories and memories that were captured.
The vibe of the whole flea market is fun and welcoming. Honestly, I made a few rounds just to stay in the atmosphere of the place! They have live music playing in a small grass area, surrounded by tons of food options. I chose to try a fun lemonade called Dystopian Rose. It has mango, guava, pineapple, raspberry, and rose. It is so light and refreshing, I’m planning on going back next week to get it again!
Like I said before, I gave myself a budget because I knew I could easily spend a fortune there lol but I did buy a couple cute memoribilia. My first purchase was an adorable bow hair tie with black and gold details (be on the lookout on my Instagram for pics of it soon! Click here to follow me –> @stylemebea. My second purchase was the most adorable succulent pot holder which is in the shape of a bulbasaur! Yes, in case you didn’t know, I grew up loving Pokemon! And after seeing him, I knew he had to be mine.
If you ever get the chance, I definately reccomend taking a trip to the Melrose Trading Post yourself. It is such an experience and I plan on returning many more times!
