A Day Trip to New Orleans

New Orleans – a place filled with great music, and even better food. Something exciting around every corner just waiting to be explored. Artwork in all types of forms. Better believe I enjoyed every minute of it of my day trip to New Orleans.

First let’s talk about the food😍 First stop of course I had to get some beignets! The classic New Orleans treat. Josh and I stopped at the cutest little cafe hidden between a large Musical Legends park and lots of bars. Cafe Beignet sells a wide variety of pastries and sweets, but I knew exactly what I wanted.

Next stop was for lunch😋 Most of the restaurants had similar options unless you wanted to spend over $50 for one course. Luckily, Josh and I found a nice restaurant that had tables on a balcony and we got the best view while we ate.😊

We ate at Olde Nola Cookery which is a Cajun/Creole restaurant with anything from oysters, fried fish, or gumbo. Both of us order fried shrimp and these were some of the largest shrimps I’ve ever seen haha but they were seasoned so well I couldn’t stop eating them. The whole atmosphere of this place was incredible and I felt like I was in a movie the whole time.

Next, we got some more dessert! This time we found the absolute cutest creamery ever! If you ever go to New Orleans you definitely have to check out Sucré. They call themselves a sweet boutique and it’s true! The way the store is set up is so bright and inviting and I’m completely obsessed with the chevron flooring. I got two scoops of the raspberry gelato in a waffle cone☺️

Besides all of the great food I ate, I also got to enjoy some free entertainment! On every street someone was either dancing, singing, or playing instruments. Again, it was like I was in a movie and had background music everywhere I went.

I wanted to wear something that would be breathable and comfortable because it was extremely hot outside that day. I decided to go for this pale green, off the shoulder top I got from HM. I paired that with some 3/4 length linen pants I picked up from Gap. My black sandals are from Target, large statement tassel earrings are from HM (got them on sale for $3!), and I thrifted my straw bag.

I honestly had the best time in New Orleans and I cannot wait to come back and eat more beignets!!
