Spring is in the air and that means there is style in the streets! I love the city and being inspired by it. Lately, I’ve been loving this blazer trend that has been all over city streets. See how you can wear this trend in spring 2018.

This is a trend I’ve been seeing all over the streets of New York so I had to bring it here to the streets of Columbus! This look is so fun with this super 80’s vibe but with a modern twist. I love that you can wear a blazer dressed up for work or totally dressed down for walking around the city. Because my blazer is a little oversized, I rolled up the sleeves so it’s not as consuming to my tiny frame. I also tucked in my shirt to give me shape underneath the blazer as well.
The rise of this blazer trend started to appear when women emancipation was also coming about (girl power!). Back in the day, they were only worn by men, but with more and more women empowerment going around, women took to the look too! I love how it can make you feel powerful in and out of the workplace and having that confidence can affect all aspects of your life in a positive way!
Now for outfit details! ๐ The star of the show, my pin stripped blazer, is by a brand called Worthington but I personally thrifted it when I was in Tennessee for a weekend (I was hunting for those vintage Levi’s *heart eyes*). Thrift stores are a GREAT place to find high quality blazers for a fraction of the price you would pay in a name brand retailer. My purse was also thrifted too! It says it’s a Chanel… but I have my questions about that lol either way it’s still super cute and I love the gold detailing. My shirt I received for volunteering with Fashion Week Columbus (yes, we have a fashion week lol) during their finale runway show. My light wash denim shorts I got from Pacsun last year, my sunglasses are from H&M (totally obsessed with the cat eye shape! Click here to see which celebrities are also rocking the look and also similar ones here, here, and here), and my white sneakers are Vans.
If you couldn’t already tell, I’ve been super into thrifting lately! You can find some super cool pieces for really cheap. Just like I mentioned before, my blazer was thrifted, but on that same trip I also bought a two piece set, some Levi’s jeans, and some Lucky Brand jeans all for $30! You just have to be willing to look around for a while till you find the diamond in the rough, but that’s half of the fun!
What trends have you been loving this spring?
